Taking on a house with a large garden when only there for a few weeks is a big ask, and not to be taken lightly.  I love the house and garden and can't wait for the time we are there longer.  When I can put all my plans into action for both house and garden.  meanwhile we keep it all ticking over slowly moving towards our goal.

The garden has provided us with much pleasure, but is an on going project.  The fact is we are only in Bulgaria 6 weeks a year, May July/Aug and October. The garden needs weeding, clearing and the grass cutting each time we go.  It's been difficult getting help,  Aerol use to cut the back until he became ill.  He had a petrol strimmer but no one else seems to have one in the village - not any one who is looking for paid work.    Here is the garden and house when we first bought the house, how small the tree in the front garden is back then.

Mum sat in the garden when we first bought the house

. Looking back at the photos it's amazing how high the garden weeds were when we first had the house - the boys are cutting down a dead Apricot tree - probably a few snakes in there. The fire and rubble is from when we arrived n Bulgaria after the "work" had been Done - a heart breaking time, Aerol and his horse and cart helped us loads to clear all the rubble

We all get stuck in to get the garden cleared, dad a keen gardener n clearing the trees, Dora my neighbour and friend has arranged for her gardener to clear the whole garden a number of times,  Finally we have bought a petrol strimmer so it should be easier to keep on top of now

love  freshly picked apricots and Bulgarian yogurt for my breakfast

Apricots

love this apricot tree - I love them for the structure they add to the garden so don't prune them hard

View of the house from the road the tree with the pink flowers is the one in the first picture of our first visit - massive now

Shady spot in the front garden

flowering tree at the front  - the one that was small in the first picture when we arrived

Apricot orchard

View of the back of the house - probably going to have a outdoor kitchen  left hand side and vegetable patch right hand side  - dip pool then to  fence  for privacy

Autumn crocus

wood pecker in the garden

finally we have a strimmer so hopefully can keep on top of the back, This October I set to pruning and clearing a lot of the trees along the side and bottom of the garden

Me with the strimmer October 15

the view at the back of the house now cleared - eventually i would like seating down at the bottom of the garden - maybe a fire pit

the pile of branches I pruned - these will be waiting in May to be cleared and burnt of given away
